Directions to Matha from La Rochelle Airport - Journey time approximately 1 hour 15 minutes

Exit through the main airport doors, turn left. Here you will find portacabins for the various different car hire companies. If hiring a car, you will require a drivers license and, if the reservation has been made in advance, the credit card under which the reservation has been made will need to be presented.

Upon collecting your car, exit the airport car park, following signs for ‘Toutes Directions’, across the main road, turn left onto the dual carriageway. (Make sure that you aren’t following the directions for La Rochelle, or Ile De Re).

Head towards Rochefort on road number N137. Stay on this road for approximately 20km, after which it becomes the Peage Toll Road. The cost of the Toll Road is 60 cents. Exit at the next junction, number 33, following D739 towards St Jean d’Angely (also Tonnay Boutonne), the 3rd exit off the roundabout.

Continuing on the D739 for approx 10km, (keep to the speed limit as the Police routinely patrol this road), passing through the villages of Lussant and Tonnay Boutonne. You will eventually arrive at a T junction, turn right, direction St Jean d’Angely, road number D939. Continue straight over approximately 5 roundabouts, until reaching the roundabout which signposts Matha to the right, Angouleme straight on. Turn right towards Matha.

Continue along, past Casino supermarket, over a small roundabout, through the town until arrival at the main square. Turn left into Rue Andre Brugerolle, L-Oliver can be found 150 yards on the left hand side.
